Save a Life Saturday with the Las Vegas Red Cross! Learn Hands Only CPR FREE!

The American Red Cross is pleased to be partnering with Representatives Shelley Berkley, Joe Heck and Dean Heller to bring this lifesaving training to the communities in which they serve.
To honor Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and all those involved in the Tucson tragedy, the American Red Cross, Southern Nevada Chapter will offer free lifesaving training at 3 locations at 1p.m., 2p.m., and 3p.m.

Saturday, March 19

The locations are as follows:

Henderson Multigenerational Center

250 S. Green Valley Parkway (215 and GVP)  Henderson, NV  89012

Las Vegas Library

833 Las Vegas Blvd. N. Las Vegas, NV  89101

Nye County Emergency Services

1510 E. Siri Lane Pahrump, NV  89060
Training will last approximately 45 minutes to one hour, and will include instruction in hands-only CPR, controlling external bleeding and managing shock.
(this is not a CPR certification class)
“Congresswoman Giffords is alive today in part because a heroic individual was trained in basic first aid skills,” said Pia Carusone the congresswoman’s chief of staff.

That “individual” has a name and he is a true American hero.

We should also honor Daniel Hernandez the true hero of this event! I hope that future Save a Life Saturdays are named for this gay hispanic hero who stepped just 5 days into his new job as a congressional aide to perform CPR on Gabrielle Giffords and apply pressure to her wounds until emergency medical services arrived on the scene. He saved her life!
